Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Gölhisar Vocational School Deputy Director and academic staff member Lecturer Zafer Köse achieved significant success with his comprehensive scientific study on Burdur's earthquake risk analysis and historical seismicity.

The article conducted by Lecturer Zafer Köse and prepared as a result of intensive field studies was published in the "Turkish Journal of Earthquake Research" under the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), one of Turkey's most competent institutions in disaster management, thus taking its place in the literature.

In the study published under the title "Assessment of the Surface-ruptures of Burdur Earthquakes of 03.10.1914 (Ms 7.1) and 02.05.1971 (Ms 6.2) with Current Geodetic Strains"; the 1914 and 1971 earthquakes, which marked Burdur's history, were scrutinized. The study analyzes the surface ruptures of these earthquakes with current geodetic data, providing critical scientific data in terms of the region's seismicity and future risk projections.
