The Forestry Department Held the Last Event of the Term at Gölhisar Lake

Nature Conservation National Parks Gölhisar Directorate and Gölhisar Vocational School Forestry Department organized a field trip within the scope of Wildlife and Inventory Techniques in Forestry at Gölhisar Lake.
Gölhisar Vocational School Forestry Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özdemir ŞENTÜRK emphasized the importance of forest ecosystems in the opening speech of the event. ŞENTÜRK stated that forests host not only plant species but also many different living groups such as wild animals, birds, reptiles, and insects. Emphasizing that ecosystems form a whole thanks to this diversity, ŞENTÜRK pointed out the importance of protecting forests and sustainable management. Speaking at the event, Gölhisar Vocational School Forestry Department lecturer Lecturer M. Murat GÖRGÖZ provided information on how forestry activities affect wildlife. He also gave detailed explanations about the methods and technological tools used in wildlife inventory applications.
Speaking at the event, Nature Conservation National Parks Gölhisar Chief Harun EKİNCİ provided general information about Gölhisar Lake and then gave information about the status of the lake. EKİNCİ also made statements about the bird species living in and around the lake. Nature Conservation National Parks Gölhisar Directorate Forest Engineer Ramazan Emrah ERKAN shared information about the importance of protecting bird species in the region for ecological balance.
Forestry Department students participating in the events conducted bird watching at Gölhisar Lake with the help of binoculars and telescopes. The students had the opportunity to observe, identify, and recognize different bird species in the lake. Additionally, the students, who watched and photographed the birds living in and around the lake using drones, also experienced the importance of technology in nature observation and how it can be used. In the final part of the event, the students experienced the excitement of virtual ziplining in Köprülü Canyon National Park using virtual reality (VR) glasses accompanied by Conservation Officers Mehmet KUTLU and Abdullah ELÇİN.
