Technical Trip of the Architectural Restoration Program to Antalya Museum and Phaselis Ancient City
Under the leadership of the Architectural Restoration Program instructors Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ünal DEMİRER and Lecturer Seyhan AKGÜL ÖZARSLAN, a technical trip was organized to the Antalya Museum and the Ancient City of Phaselis.
Within the scope of Ancient Architecture and General Archaeology courses, architectural structures and elements seen theoretically in classes were examined and evaluated on-site.
The Antalya Museum, one of the world's distinguished museums, was visited, and the restoration works carried out by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ünal DEMİRER, who was personally involved in the sculpture restoration works here in the 1980s, were conveyed.
Then, the Ancient City of Phaselis, a port city where unique natural beauty and history intertwine, was visited. We thank the Phaselis excavation team members Dr. Mustafa Şimşek, also a graduate of our Gölhisar Vocational School Architectural Restoration program, Archaeologist Dr. Tolga Karahan, and the entire excavation team for their hospitality in conveying the excavation and repair works in the ancient city.
