Applied Field Study at Atatürk Middle School by Gölhisar MYO Students
Gölhisar Vocational School of Higher Education Department of Architecture and Urban Planning 2nd year students of the Mapping and Cadastre and Land Registry and Cadastre Program organized an on-campus field study activity with Atatürk Middle School students under the guidance of Lecturer Dr. Hasan Çevik. This activity aimed to help young students gain practical knowledge in land surveying and mapping.
Land Surveying Instruments Introduced
During the event, various instruments used in land surveying operations were introduced to middle school students. These instruments included a level, staff, total station, ranging rod, prism, steel tape measure, and cors. Detailed information was provided about the purpose, functions, and usage of each instrument. Students had the opportunity to see how these instruments work and how land surveys are conducted through practical demonstrations.
Practical Studies Conducted
2nd year students of the Mapping and Cadastre and Land Registry and Cadastre Program conducted acquisition and application studies within Atatürk Middle School. Thanks to these studies, middle school students had the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. Additionally, as a result of these studies, a 1/1000 scale detailed map of Atatürk Middle School was created. This map shows the physical structure and surroundings of the school in detail.
Great Interest and Satisfaction
The event attracted great interest from Atatürk Middle School students. In addition to gaining knowledge about land surveying and mapping, students reinforced this knowledge by participating in practical studies. Atatürk Middle School Principal Ahmet Dilman expressed his satisfaction with this event organized by the students of Gölhisar Vocational School of Higher Education Mapping and Cadastre and Land Registry and Cadastre Program. Dilman stated that such events increase students' interest in science and technology and motivate them.
It was emphasized that such events enrich students' education by providing them with both theoretical and practical knowledge and better prepare them for their future professions. It was stated that Gölhisar Vocational School of Higher Education will continue such educational activities and continue efforts to develop students' knowledge and skills.
