In our Vocational School, an online conference on "Urban Transformation" was held on Monday, April 3, 2023. The conference was attended by our Vocational School Deputy Director Lecturer Murat ERTİLAV, Head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning Assoc. Dr. Ünal DEMİRER, department faculty members, and our students.
The conference was attended by the 2nd President of the Antalya Branch of the Chamber of Survey and Cadastre Engineers and the personnel of the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization, Senior Survey Engineer Serter Kocababa, who, after a general explanation about the topic of "Urban Transformation", answered the following questions from the conference moderator Lecturer Zafer KÖSE.
1. What is the main purpose of the law on the transformation of areas under disaster risk, numbered 6306?
2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of urban transformation?
3. How can we benefit from urban transformation? Does the citizen who benefits have to pay any fee?
4. Will buildings that are not in the first-degree earthquake zone or old buildings benefit from the law?
5. How will risky buildings be identified?
6. Is it more appropriate for urban transformation applications to be done on a building basis or on a regional basis?
7. How many months and how much rent assistance will be provided for the owners?
Kocababa talked about how important and priority the issue of urban transformation is for our country. After answering questions from students and faculty members, the conference ended.
