Announcement Regarding Tuition Fee and Contribution Payment of Students Residing in the Earthquake Zone

With the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette dated 03 March 2023 and numbered 32121, it was decided that “The tuition fee and contribution fee for the spring semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year of students who reside in the provinces where a state of emergency has been declared due to their family or themselves and continue their education in any State higher education institution or continue their education in State higher education institutions in the provinces where a state of emergency has been declared, as well as students accepted from abroad who reside in the provinces where a state of emergency has been declared and continue their education in State higher education institutions in these provinces, will be covered by the State. If the tuition fee and contribution fee for the spring semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year have been collected from the aforementioned students, it will be refunded by the higher education institutions.”
Within the scope of this decision, students who reside in the provinces where a state of emergency has been declared due to the earthquake, or their families, will not pay the tuition fee/contribution fee. If the tuition fee and contribution fee for the spring semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year have been collected from the aforementioned students, a refund process will be carried out.
Our students who have not yet paid the tuition fee/contribution fee can register for courses through the Student Information System during the Add-Drop Week (between 06-10 March 2023) if they apply to the e-mail address of the unit they are registered with a petition and a residence document obtained from e-government.
Our students who have registered for courses by paying the tuition fee/contribution fee should apply to our school with a petition containing the residence document obtained from e-government and the bank account number (IBAN number) opened in their name to the e-mail address golhisarmyo@mehmetakif.edu.tr to initiate the refund process.
