Purpose of the Program
Within the scope of the Forestry and Forest Products Program, it is aimed to train intermediate staff who can meet the need for professional technical personnel required in the cultivation, maintenance, inventory, harvesting, and marketing of all kinds of wood and non-wood forest products, afforestation, forest protection, measurement of wood and stands, and to assist forest engineers. Additionally, in the Forestry and Forest Products Program, students graduate with both basic theoretical and practical knowledge and the skills and knowledge to continue their undergraduate education.
General Objectives of the Program
To develop forests, protect them against illegal and unlawful interventions, natural disasters, fires, various pests, and ensure necessary controls, to carry out the production, transportation, storage, work, and processes of primary and secondary forest products, to take part in the management and operation of forests in a way that ensures their continuity according to technical and economic requirements, to use contemporary technology and appropriate methods for forestry practices, to use necessary tools and equipment related to forestry services, to understand national and international forestry policies, laws, and obligations, to have knowledge and sensitivity about environmental and occupational safety within the ethical responsibility of the forestry profession, to recognize the elements that make up forest ecosystems, to have knowledge about wildlife, to have knowledge about the recognition, cultivation, inventory, and production of non-wood forest products constitute the general objectives of the Forestry and Forest Products Program.
Conditions Required to Graduate from the Forestry and Forest Products Program
Students in the Forestry and Forest Products Program will graduate by completing the mandatory institutional internship covering 30 working days and 30 ECTS each semester, totaling 120 ECTS at the end of four semesters. Additionally, students who successfully complete their courses and are in a position to graduate are entitled to receive an Associate Degree Diploma.
Newly registered full-time (first) students and first-time students who will renew their registration within the normal duration of their program do not pay tuition fees.
· However, students who cannot graduate at the end of the normal duration of study (4 semesters) pay the tuition fee determined by the Council of Ministers for each academic year.
· Students who are at the graduation stage and only have an internship left do not pay the tuition fee for the internship.
· Newly registered second-time students pay the tuition fee determined by the Council of Ministers for each academic year.
· Second-time students who rank in the top 10% in each semester of their program pay the tuition fee determined by the Council of Ministers for each academic year.

The language of instruction is Turkish, and the program, which has a duration of 2 years, provides education according to the full-time education model, consisting of 4 semesters (terms) including fall and spring. Education and training activities are carried out in the form of I. and II. education. YÖK courses are given according to the distance education method, and program courses are conducted in classroom environments within the School building, in computer laboratories, in the natural environment within the boundaries of the School, in the nursery area within the borders of Gölhisar district, and in relevant areas.
· A 30 working day internship is mandatory in the program.
Students who successfully complete the Forestry and Forest Products program are awarded an Associate Degree Diploma and the title of “Forest Products Technician”. Graduates of the Forestry and Forest Products Program can work in technical and administrative positions in institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey (General Directorate of Forestry, General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks), General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, General Directorate of Highways, State Planning Organization.
In the private sector, they can work as technical personnel in private forestry offices, landscaping companies, private nurseries, and other private organizations that carry out forestry-related work and operations. Additionally, they can take part in survey and inventory studies in nature, environment, and forestry-based projects prepared by various non-governmental organizations.
